SUMMARY:

The Senior Field Technician is responsible for system(s) installation, demand service calls and service contracts within their respective skillset to the customer’s satisfaction. This individual will also be responsible for suggesting system improvements, modifications, etc. to customer systems. A Senior Field Technician will have 5 to 10 years of experience in all or many of the following primary skillsets and attributes:


  • OSHA 10 Safety Trained
  • MSHA Safety Trained
  • Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • HART 475 Setup and Use
  • PactWare Setup and Use
  • ProCommSol Setup and Use
  • Actuator Modification, Rebuild, Installation and Setup
  • Actuator Positioner Installation, Setup and Calibration
  • Electrical Control Drawings Comprehension
  • Mechanical Control Drawings Comprehension
  • P&ID Drawings Comprehension
  • Mulitmeter Troubleshooting of Electrical Systems
  • ANY Pressure and Temperature Transmitter Setup and Calibration
  • ANY Flowmeter Setup and Calibration
  • ANY Level Transmitter Setup and Calibration
  • ANY Chart and Video Recorder Setup
  • ANY Type Programable Loop Controller Programming and Setup

AC Technical Services is seeking an Automation Specialist/Controls Programmer:

SUMMARY:

The Automation Specialist (Controls Programmer) position is responsible for configuring, programming, starting-up, and commissioning custom control systems based on plans and customer specifications. Responsibilities will also include troubleshooting and re-configuring defective configurations, performing scheduled maintenance, performing warranty work, providing phone and field technical support, and suggesting system improvements, modifications, etc. to existing systems.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Configure/Program:
    • Boiler and Boiler Plant control systems – both BMS and Combustion Control
    • Chiller Plant control systems
    • Kiln and Furnace control systems
    • Other process control systems
    • Batch processes
    • SCADA Systems
    • HMI Systems
  • Hardware used will include Honeywell HC900 Controller, Honeywell ControlEdge PLC, Honeywell LX Controller, Allen-Bradley PLCs, as well as other Industrial Controllers.
  • Software used will include Honeywell Experion HS software, Redlion Crimson software, Iconics software, and other SCADA software systems.
  • Coordinate design/programming activities with other departments.
  • Assist in testing control system configurations.
  • Assist activities to validate and commission control systems during factory acceptance test (FAT).
  • Provide on-site training to customers as needed.
  • Suggest system improvements, modifications, etc. to the project manager.
  • Assist in sales and proposal development.
  • Perform warranty work.
  • Complete documentation for assigned tasks.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity and experience of types of control systems described above.
  • Ability to tune various control loops to meet control system requirements
  • Ability to use Digital Volt/Ohm Meters and transmitter simulators
  • Understanding of Ethernet Network Systems and Interfacing Control Systems to these Networks
  • Proficiency with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs as applied to Utility or Process controls at a minimum and Honeywell HC900 a plus.
  • Skills with any HMIs and SCADA to demonstrate the ability to learn others. Redlion and Iconics experience a plus.
  • Proficient in software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including, but not limited to, the ability to relate technical terminology to customers, listen effectively, and solicit input from others.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Two-year (2) degree in a related technical field or related work experience.
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years related work experience desired
